Hi everyone, this wintry month of July down here in New Zealand is turning out to be colder than usual. As the winter season peaks, so do the winter ills and ailments for most people. So I thought, why not celebrate or acknowledge all those who have overcome health issues. Are you game to find out more? If you are, then press below…

In celebrating such a diverse and wide-ranging subject I had my work cut out for me. Luckily for me, my mother has been on a bit of a mission recently. You see, my father needed to have his gallbladder removed and ended up going in for surgery early this year and in an attempt to aid his recovery my mother was researching foods that would be good for him – and to help me. While on this search she came upon a title by a Dr. William Li, Eat to beat disease and spent quite some time learning how the body is able to fight off diseases and illnesses by diet alone. She swears it’s one of the best books she read so far and recommends it to anyone and everyone she finds. She has asked me to share her recommendation with you too.
As my mother was on this journey, I was on my own journey of recovery and this month I will feature a post with how it is going so far. The other posts will feature some amazing tweens and teens who have battled diseases or have assisted someone close to them in overcoming a drastic diagnosis. I have included an extra adult title this month as well.
I hope you enjoy my selections this month.
Stay safe and keep reading
