My personal work

Hi everyone, this week I’ll be sharing a short poem of mine musing over thoughts I had as a young student. You’ll find this poem fairly simple, describing a glorious sunset I witnessed as a university student. I hope you enjoy it!!

Some poetry of mine…

Sunset

A golden hued sky is seen
At sunset.

Rich orange mixes with paler shades
And brilliant displays of red
Are features we find
At sunset.

Hillsides shine with bronze.
A whole countryside can change as
The majestic sun starts on its journey
Towards the end of the horizon
At sunset.

Time slows down, temperature changes,
And a whole new world comes to life
 At sunset.

The hustle and bustle in towns slows down.
People go home to relax with friends and family
At sunset.

Others find this time alluring,
Young lovers stroll through lonely paths
Or along beaches.
Families sometimes take their pets
For walks in parks
 At sunset.

Unknown to the human eye
A whole new world awakens
At sunset.

Crickets chirp, insect calls,
Flying birds finding places to roost
All indicate the beginning of the night life
At sunset.

The barn owl out in the woods awakens
Creatures of the night take on life
During sunset.

The mighty globe of light
That provides us with warmth and life
Finally disappears, over the horizon,
Slips into the sea, to its long and slumber,
At sunset.

The sky remains dimly lit
Shades of blue and black slowly mix
But there is always a bit of light
Reminding us of a brighter
And better tomorrow,
At sunset.
