Hi everyone, this October I’m delving into the theme of happiness and all the side effects of it. Yes, you read that right, the side effects!! I hope you and your tween aren’t under too much stress with school and such to venture a little into my blog and explore what I’ve learned about happiness. My father would have wanted me to stay positive and blog about the things that spark joy in my life. So to find out more, why not press the button below…
So this month the theme of happiness will be seen throughout the various posts I’ve been planning. It’s something that’s been talked about a lot now in mainstream media and online. The number of self-help books that are out there are staggering and as readers we’re spoiled for choice on which to choose as one to follow. Happiness for me is more than just a feeling, it’s more of a state of being and living.
Over the years I’ve been trying to find teachers myself and have found a few who I believe that do deliver in terms of “teaching” how to live a ‘happy’ life. You’ll see a post dedicated to one such person I’ve been following for a few years. The tween reads are books that induce a happier state of mind for me when I finish reading them. I’m also trying to give you a series of teen reads that really tickled my funny bone as I read it. I’ll try to include a personal post on my own take on happiness and what it means to me.
I’m phrasing that sentence with ‘try’ because I’m not sure how long I’ll be using just a few fingers to type these posts up before my mobility in my hand gets compromised with a procedure of sorts!! Should that happen as the year progresses, I do apologise if I have to limit the number of posts I publish.
Until then, I hope you enjoy these October posts!
Stay safe and keep reading

I am a big fan of a podcast called “The Happiness Lab,” and they just talked about a new book coming out — Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier
Book by Arthur C. Brooks and Oprah Winfrey. I put it on my TBR list, so I figured I would share it with you!

I think I saw an interview Oprah had with him on YouTube recently. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll definitely add this to my pile too!!

As soon as I hit reply, I noticed a typo… Oops! The title should just be Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier
