Hi everyone, welcome to the second last month of the year!! Boy has the year flown by! As the title above suggests, I will be celebrating teachers and education this month. There is a reason for this particular topic, and to find it out you will have to press the button below…
I suppose my parents both being teachers early in their careers gave me a respect for the teachers I ended up having in school. Mind you, my parents were my very first teachers as they taught me how to be a good person as well as helped with my studies. The teachers I’ve had over the span of my childhood and into my adolescence did have a huge impact on my perception of the world. My favourite teachers always taught either Geography or English, which helped me course the trajectory of my career.
Over the years I’ve read so many school stories with some amazing teachers in them, that selecting the titles for this month was a challenge. Even the odd biographies on teachers and education I’ve read have been memorable. One of the first books that fueled my interest in teachers and education was Gervase Phinn’s The Other Side of the Dale and the subsequent series that followed.
This month I’ll feature a few posts as I’m in the process of preparing for a procedure for my thumb. I’ll feature a short booklist post of children’s reads, a post about an awesome author and an inspiring biography I found.
I hope you enjoy reading these.
Stay safe and keep reading
Miss Mahee
