Hi everyone, this month marks the beginning of the autumn season here in New Zealand. I thought a good way to start off the season was with a mysterious ghostly sort of tale. Do you dare venture in…

Title: Through the mirror door
Author: Sarah Baker
Genre: Fiction – paranormal
ISBN: 9781910611036
Publication details: Catnip Publishing Ltd; London, 2016
What this book is about: Every house holds a secret. Night-time footsteps, flickering candlelight and shadows in windows. Angela knows a secret is hiding in this crumbling French manor house. Then she finds Julien… but is it too late to save him?
My review: A hauntingly lovely story!! Yes, it does have ghosts, but then which haunted house doesn’t!! Angela is an orphan, just, and is taken on holiday by her Aunt Cece to a manor house in France, where no-one is friendly, even her two cousins are mean bullies!! Then she meets a sick boy one night and befriends him. The catch: the boy can be seen through a huge mirror. And so, our tale enfolds. Ghost story, time-travelling story, orphan story, you take your pick this has it. Thrown in with some dodgy relatives and some ghostly ones!! Filled with mystery and suspense, this is one gripping read!! Even the ever-so-slightly inappropriate kiss is quite in the right place!! Great for all ages!!
