Hi everyone, this last week of September I’m hoping to treat you to a lovely read I discovered not too long ago. I know it doesn’t sound very interesting or have a title that is mysterious enough, but please bear with me until you get to my review. I hope this is enough to pique your interest, press below friends to find out more…

Title: Tiger Moth
Author: Suzi Moore
Genre: Fiction – contemporary
ISBN: 9780857075109 (Paperback)
Publication details: Simon & Schuster; London, 2014
What this book is about: Ever since Alice was adopted, Calver Manor, with its overgrown garden has been the one place she feels safe. When Alice’s parents tell her they’re having a baby, they inadvertently turn her world upside down. Will they love their real baby more than her? Alice questions her place in the family and pretty soon has no words to express her feelings. She stays silent on that day until it has been six months and still Alice hasn’t spoken. Zack has everything he could want. A loving family, lots of friends and a brilliant dog for a best friend. But when tragedy strikes, Zack is ripped from the life he loves and forced to move with his mum to a tiny cottage by the sea. Then Zack meets Alice, and together they realize that when life seems less than perfect, a new friend might be all you need to find your way home.
My review: This lovely read brought a story with so many layers. At times funny, others mysterious, but mostly it packed a heartwarming story of finding your place in the world. Told in the distinct voices of our young protagonists. Zack and Alice, readers are taken from one setting to another. I felt myself growing to love these youngsters as the story progressed and each layer was unveiled. I loved the simple writing style and how Moore crafted the story. At times I got classic vibes from this read and it reminded me a bit of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden. A gorgeous story that all ages can enjoy!!
