Hi everyone, this February we’ll be reading around the largest continent: Asia. Since my interest in diverse reads took off recently, I found that I had collected quite a collection of reads set in Asian countries. Finding ones appropriate for younger readers while knowing the grown ups might want an adult story or two kept me occupied with a large stack of reads over the Christmas break!! So, friends, press further for more info…
So, to begin with, I wanted to expand my tween booklist this month to include reads from different countries in Asia instead of just giving several from a few. I hope you like the list I’ve come up with as I had to whittle down my choices to a lucky seven. For the teen titles, I was really scraping the barrel and had to go find some from the local library. I really wanted to find titles where the story was set in either the birth country of my characters, or a vacation destination that was known for its rich Asian culture and heritage. The adult story is one I found myself entranced by and ended up following up the authors’ other books. I won’t be giving you much about who that author is or from which country they hail from, you’ll have to wait and find out!!
Apologies in advance for those waiting for a personal post. I won’t be giving you one this month about Sri Lanka or from my childhood as I wanted to highlight and celebrate other Asian cultures, their traditions, and unique flavours.
I hope you enjoy the booklist and review posts I have lined up for you.
Stay safe and keep reading
Miss Mahee
