My review: This was the first diverse crime novel I had read. I hadn’t heard much about Chetan Bhagat at this time and after reading the first few chapters I was hooked. I was entranced even though I was laughing uncontrollably most of the time!! In my mind, the whole book played out like a contemporary Bollywood movie that had Agatha Christie vibes, but with a Delhi backdrop. The story about poor Prerna’s life and the events that lead to her unfortunate demise was quite extensively crafted. I think I hadn’t figured it out until fairly close to the end. One of the things that I liked the most was the hilarious banter between this unlikely duo of detectives. You can see that their friendship is tested in this unfortunate case of theirs. If you’re like me and decide to start venturing into diverse crime authors, Chetan Bhagat’s The Girl in Room 105 should be the first one to begin with as One Arranged Murder is its sequel. Crime lovers will surely enjoy this pair of reads!!
