When breath becomes air by Paul Kalanithi

Hi everyone, this last week’s review post is an adult non-fiction title which deviates ever so slightly from the general theme for the month. You see, the author passed away before his book was to be published and never got to see how much of an impact his amazing book would have on the world. I hope that’s enough to get you to continue as this book is…well…you will have to read on to find out!

Living with intent by Mallika Chopra

Hi everyone, this next read is one I came upon quite by chance. I was going through a phase of reading self-help books when this title popped up. The one thing that struck me was the author’s name…well…for those who know the name Deepak Chopra…this is an amazing book written by his daughter!!

The world’s strongest librarian by Josh Hanagarne

Hi everyone to this last week of September!! The title featured this week is slightly different from the others so far. We have an adult biography featuring the life story of librarian Josh Hanagarne and his struggles with Tourette’s syndrome. I know it sounds a bit quirky and an odd combination, but if you give it a chance, you might find yourself laughing until your sides hurt!! Go on, give it a whirl!!

The Insulin Express by Oren Liebermann

Hi all, this last title caught my eye some months ago as it had the words ‘travel’ and ‘diabetes’ in the description. I felt myself drawn to it as diabetes runs in my own family and as a result I find myself thinking twice about the things I eat and my lifestyle. Although I have my own raft of health issues; they become quite insignificant compared to the trials faced by the author of this book. So, if you or someone you know is facing a serious illness, have a read of this memoir if you need some inspiration.

Brotherhood by Deepak Chopra

Hello all to this last post for June!! This post is a biography that caught my eye a few years ago, and being the generous person that I am, passed it onto my mother, who ended up recommended it to her friends before I had a chance to read it!! Yes, the book was that good. If you want to find out more, read on… (I did read it in the end!!)
