Hi everyone, it’s May and winter has officially arrived in Auckland!! It’s not as cold as I expected in this new house but I need several layers for work. May is Music Month for us at the Auckland Libraries and I thought I should extend the celebrations to my blog with some musical themed tween reads for you. What’s that, you’re not a fan of music…no worries, you can stop scrolling and let the actual fans press the button below…
Music and my family have had an extended love affair for several generations actually. From both sides of my family I have musicians of some sort, and ended up learning to play the piano myself. I grew up with not just Sri Lankan music but also with the pop songs of the 1980’s as my background soundtrack!! I’ll have more details for you on a longer personal post this month. Be sure to check it out!!
For your reading pleasure I have a couple of booklist posts and a couple of review posts. There won’t be any teen reads this month but a mixture of tween reads and an adult biography I found. Well, to be honest, the books find me, not the other way round!!
I’m also including a little booklist of non-fiction reads for anyone who has a tween interested in learning about music and its history. I hope you enjoy the selections I have set up for you this month.
Stay safe and keep reading
Miss Mahee
