Hi everyone, I hope you’re all enjoying the posts for this month so far. Can you believe that January ends tomorrow? It just hit me that I’ve got just under three weeks for my thumb procedure. This post is a short personal message of thanks for now.
Don’t worry though, I’m going to make sure the month of February is complete before I leave for the procedure. I’ve got plans for a few months after February but I’m not sure for certain if I’ll be able to complete the posts for March. So if I’ve only given you a handful of posts, it’s because I literally can’t type or have energy to do much.
My procedure is scheduled for mid-February 2024 and it will be a straightforward one according to my hand surgeon. Some pain is expected for the two weeks or so following the procedure and I’ll be at home for the duration until it wears off.
It’s a daunting prospect for me but I’m trying to stay positive. I know it won’t be like what my father went though; I will only be receiving a numbing agent for my arm while they perform the procedure, but the surgeon did say that there will be pain after it’s finished.
My therapist has been a big help in my journey so far. I’m hoping my recovery won’t be too painful and long-winded. I’ll touch base with you all once I regain strength after it all. This post is just a short heads up, a “Thank you for bearing with me”, and maybe a “See you soon!”
I hope you enjoy next month’s posts!!
Stay safe and keep reading
